Putnam County officials are calling for a coronavirus testing site at the Paladin Center in Carmel.

Putnam County Executive Maryellen Odell says the situation is critical, and with 99,000 residents, many of them elderly, the lack of a central coronavirus testing site is challenging and frustrating.

Odell says the state Department of Health will have to approve using the Paladin Center as a testing site.

She says she hopes to get approval by next week.
