Scarsdale native and "Stranger Things" star Noah Schnapp says he identifies as gay.
The 18-year-old actor shared the news on TikTok and downplayed the announcement. "You know what it never was? That serious. It was never that serious. Quite frankly, it will never be that serious."
The text on the video elaborated by stating "When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was, 'We know.'"
Schnapp captioned the video, "I guess I'm more similar to Will than I thought".
Diehard fans know Schnapp's "Stranger Things" character, Will Byers, professed his love for his friend Mike in the most recent season of the show.
The outpouring from those fans, including people here in Westchester, has been overwhelmingly supportive.
