Students who attend the Laurel Plains Elementary School in New City will be going back to their old campus next week after sewer-like smells forced students and staff to move out in September.
Extensive testing was performed on the campus after some students and staff complained of feeling ill because of the overwhelming smell.
Classes were relocated to the nearby Hillcrest Elementary School, which was empty after budget cuts forced the school to close.
Parents and students alike say they are happy to be returning to their original campus. "He's happy to be going back," Debbie Fisher, a parent, said of her son. "It's been a long haul."
