Suffern hospital tracks down medical records after doctor disappeared
Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern is taking steps to retrieve all of the medical files left behind after a doctor suddenly closed down his offices.
Radiologist Dr. Noah Weg closed his three offices last month, taking the medical records with him. The doctor notified the health department that the practice was forced to close due to internal corporate reasons. However, the closure left thousands of patients in a lurch searching for X-ray and mammogram results.
Hospital officials are working with Dr. Weg to retrieve records that date back 10 years. Weg?s attorney says the records are currently stored in West Nyack and the doctor is doing everything he can to make them available to his patients.
