Summer packs another hot punch for Hudson Valley
After an unseasonably cool week of weather came a blast of heat and humidity Saturday and people in Westchester and Hudson Valley were out enjoying the possible last blast of summer fun.
The extreme heat hit the area hard, as the dog days of summer began to wind down. Despite the stifling heat and humidity, people were out in full force to take advantage. Many were at area pools and parks.
Mostly kids were seen playing in the heat. With the start of the school year just around the corner, it'll soon be time to trade in the swim trunks and water toys for notebooks and homework.
The temperature reached in the 90s but it felt like more than 100 degrees with the humidity. Health officials say in extreme heat it's best to stay inside and enjoy the air conditioning.
