Supporters demand HV principal be fully reinstated
Students, parents and teachers packed the Chester school board meeting last night to demand that a local principal be fully reinstated after police determined that there was no factual evidence to support criminal charges that had been filed against him.
Chester Academy Principal Ernest Jackson had been put on administrative leave with pay after visiting a student's home who had called out sick.
At last night's meeting, some said that while checking on a child who called in sick is unconventional, they applaud his efforts.
Jackson and a school psychologist were both place on leave after the incident, but after police dropped all charges after concluding an investigation, many are still wondering why they are not back in school.
Chester school board members tell News 12 that their lawyer and school superintendent need to review some legal issues about the principal before announcing a decision.
