A fight turned into a deadly shooting in Nyack Sunday night.
Police say the violence broke out at South Franklin and Main streets around 7:15 p.m.
According to witnesses, two men got into an argument in front of a bar. People in the area say they then heard several gunshots and a suspect then took off.
The unidentified victim was rushed to Nyack Hospital where he was pronounced dead. "Some guys got into a little scuffle over here, I guess in front of the bar over here, and the scuffle ended up coming into the street, and then after that, just escalated, someone pulled out a gun, and somebody lost their life," says witness Jansie Paulino.
Police say about an hour later they caught the suspect, and that person is now in custody.
They tell News 12 there is no threat to the public, and that they've located all people of interest. Anyone who has information is asked to reach out to the Orangetown Police Department.
