LARCHMONT - Hundreds of swimmers of all ages took to the Long Island Sound in Larchmont today for a good cause.
The docks of the Larchmont Yacht Club were the jumping-off point for participants in the 10K or 2K swim to raise money in the fight against cancer.
The swim raised money through nonprofit group Swim Across America, which helps local hospitals fight cancer.
Among the participants was skin cancer survivor Ford Prime. "Five and a half years ago, I was told I had about 90 days to live. I'm still here," he said. His daughter and his doctor joined him for every stroke today.
Organizers with Swim Across America say that so far, they've raised over $1 million for the cause.
