The girlfriend of Armonk stock swindler Sam Israel pleaded guilty Tuesday to helping him try and avoid prison last year.
Deborah Ryan faces as much as 10 years in prison, but will likely be sentenced to less time as part of her plea deal.
Ryan told the judge at the Federal Building and Courthouse in White Plains that Sam Israel begged her to help him jump bail the night before the deadline to turn himself in June 2008. Israel had been found guilty of a $450 million hedge fund scam and later faked his suicide.
Ryan is also facing contraband charges in Mount Pleasant after Westchester County Jail guards say they found $300 stuffed inside a magazine she sent Israel. She has pled not guilty to those charges.
