The Rockland County man who dangled from the Tappan Zee Bridge in protest was released today on $500 bail and faces up to five charges.
Officials say Michael Davitt, 54, was fired from his job in 2008 as a substance abuse counselor at the Rockland County Department of Mental Health and was protesting that job loss.
Davitt's protest held up traffic and officials for more than three hours yesterday.
Davitt now has five charges against him, including obstructing governmental administration and reckless endangerment.
He was released from Westchester Medical Center without injuries Monday. He's expected to appear in Greenburgh Court on Nov. 17.
