NEW CITY - Another lawsuit has been filed in connection to the tragedy on the Hudson River last summer.
Tappan Zee Constructors is asking the court to exonerate or limit its liability in a deadly boat crash involving one of its barges. The organization is placing the entire blame on the boat's operator, JoJo John, of Nyack.
On July 26, bride-to-be Lindsey Stewart and her groom's best man, Mark Lennon, were killed when the boat they were riding on crashed into a barge on the Hudson.
Tappan Zee Constructors is facing several lawsuits from the victims' families and others.
However, it claims that the barges were moored and lit properly at the time of the accident and John was negligent.
John is facing vehicular manslaughter charges, as well as other charges.
Prosecutors say he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the crash.
