11h agoTrying to cure childhood diseases can feel like a tough mountain to climb for scientists so a local principal is going to literally climb a mountain to raise money for the cause.
Tappan Zee High School Principal Rudy Arietta will begin training on Bear Mountain Saturday, for the real test in August.
That's when he's going to hike a mountain in Utah 13 times -- equivalent to 29,029 feet -- because that is the height of Mt. Everest.
It's all to raise money for the Children's Tumor Foundation. Neurofibromatosis affects the daughter of Tappan Zee High School's basketball coach.
Arietta's goal is to raise $29,029 dollars.
