Tearful goodbye to Middletown woman slain in alleged murder-for-hire plot
Family and friends paid their final respects Wednesday to a woman killed in what police are calling a murder-for-hire plot.
Mourners at the Christian Fellowship Church in Middletown remembered Fermina Nunez, 36, as a woman full of life and kindness. Police say Nunez was killed in plan orchestrated by her ex-boyfriend Patrick Bowie. They say over the weekend, Nunez and three customers were in her hair salon when Melvin Green walked in and shot Nunez in the head execution style. Friends say Nunez and Bowie had a rocky seven-year relationship.
Both Green and Bowie are in police custody charged with first-degree murder.
