Teen accused of making threats to judges, prosecutors in Orange County
An 18-year-old was arrested and charged with making threats against judges and assistant district attorneys at the Orange County Courthouse in Goshen Thursday.
The courthouse was evacuated while police investigated a series of five calls that were placed by the same person to the Orange County 911 center. The caller threatened to shoot county judges, prosecutors and innocent bystanders. Police say the suspect, Matthew Burks, was already wanted for skipping a recent sentencing hearing.
Burks is charged with four counts of making a terrorist threat. He may face one of the judges he threatened to shoot at his arraignment.
