Police say a 16-year-old girl driving with a learner's permit struck and killed an elderly pedestrian in Nyack Tuesday.
The 75-year-old woman was crossing North Broadway just feet away from her home when she was struck by the SUV, authorities say. Paramedics who responded to the scene tried CPR, but they say the woman died at Nyack Hospital.
Police say the SUV had Pennsylvania license plates and the driver is from Valley Cottage in Rockland County.
The name of the victim has yet to be released.
