YONKERS - A violent night in Yonkers landed two people in the hospital.

A teenager on crutches was shot in the face and another man was stabbed last night in Yonkers.

Investigators say two suspects approached a group standing on the corner of Coyle and Interval Place at around 1 a.m. Shots were fired and the suspects ran off.

A 16-year-old was shot several times, including in his face. EMT crews rushed the teen to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. People in the neighborhood say he had been on crutches as he recovered from a recent surgery.

The victim suffered severe facial trauma. Officials say he will be OK but is going to need extensive surgery on his face.

Authorities are also investigating a stabbing that happened just before 1 a.m. on Saint Andrew’s Place, not far from the shooting. A man in his 20s was stabbed several times, but managed to get to the 3rd Precinct for help.

The stabbing victim suffered serious injuries and was also taken to Jacobi Medical Center.
