Tenants in one affordable housing complex say they have had no heat or hot water for a month.

On Saturday, residents rallied outside the Louis H. Pink Houses demanding heat and hot water.

They say the problem has been going on for years. They say building management will fix the problem for a week or so, but then it is back to being cold.

To keep warm, tenants are using space heaters, opening their ovens and using electric radiators, all of which are fire hazards.

A spokesperson for the city's housing authority told News 12, "It is unacceptable for our residents to be without heat as the temperatures drop. The boilers are working now and staff are onsite monitoring the situation to ensure this problem doesn't reoccur."
