In the wake of a two-day snow storm that knocked down trees, power lines and shut down roads, thousands across Orange County woke up without power Tuesday.
A viewer sent video to News 12 of the damage on Highland Avenue in Warwick when a transformer caught fire overnight. Neighbors on Second Street say it was a similar scene there.
A representative for Orange & Rockland Utilities said the conditions were so bad overnight that crews had to be pulled for safety.
The representative added that while power is expected to be restored soon, the damage is likely to take days to repair.
