NEW YORK - The National September 11 Memorial and Museum was dedicated today.

A new time-lapse video captures the construction of museum from the foundation until today.

President Barack Obama, politicians as well as the victims' families and first responders were hand for the special ceremony.

The museum tells the story of what happened on 9/11 through thousands of images, displays and documents. It also includes artifacts from emergency vehicles and victim's personal belongings recovered from the rubble and donated by the families.

The museum will open to the general public next Wednesday, May 21.
