Trial begins in White Plains mayor's domestic abuse case
Opening arguments began today in the domestic abuse trial of White Plains Mayor Adam Bradley.Bradley's attorneys tried to make the case that he was, in fact, the victim and not his wife.
Bradley was charged with domestic abuse after he allegedly threw hot tea on his wife, Fumiko, and slammed her hand in a doorway.
The defense argued today that testimony from various psychiatrists who have spoken with members of the Bradley family would exonerate Bradley and show that Fumiko may have been lying about her claims.
The judge denied the defense's request to allow those specialists to testify, saying that it would violate doctor-patient confidentiality agreements.
Bradley is being tried by a judge only. There will be no jury.
