Truck hits overpass on Bronx River Parkway

<p>Two lanes of the southbound parkway were closed after the truck slammed into the overpass on the Yonkers/Mount Vernon border.</p>

Traffic on the Bronx River Parkway was snarled after a tractor-trailer hit an overpass early this morning.
Two lanes of the southbound parkway were closed for a couple hours as crews are worked to remove the debris from the parkway on the Yonkers/Mount Vernon border near exit 11E. The crash was cleared around 6:45 a.m.
It is unknown yet why the driver was on the parkway or if there are any injuries.
The crash comes just days after Westchester County Executive George Latimer announced that the county is actively is looking for ways to stop to trucks from hitting overpasses on the county's parkways.
