A Westchester resident Turned To Tara saying that that their mail carrier has been throwing packages at their front door.
In video seen only on News 12, the postal worker in Elmsford can be seen hurling people's packages across a resident’s yard.
Peggy Miller, who lives next door to the home in the video, received a package the same day as the incident. Miller’s package contained clothing, but News 12 has been told that two of her neighbors had damaged goods in their packages. One of them was so frustrated that she would only speak to News 12 through an intercom to say how angry she was.
News 12 decided to scope out the mail route this week and caught up with the postal worker Wednesday afternoon. He admitted to tossing the packages.
"I stopped ever since I was scolded by the postmaster, so I don't do that anymore,” he said.
The USPS told News 12 that “the videos shared with News 12 clearly depict unacceptable behavior. These videos do not reflect the efforts of the thousands of professional, dedicated carriers in our workforce.”
USPS says if any homeowners notice any similar activity to contact the agency right away so it can start a timely investigation.
The timing of the tossed packages comes as complaints grow daily about slow and inconsistent mail delivery across Westchester.
