Two men in good condition after plane crashes off Yonkers City Pier
A student pilot and his instructor are in good condition Tuesday after their single-engine plane crashed into the Hudson River off the Yonkers City Recreation Pier.
Forty-four-year-old Mark Sorey and his instructor, 43-year-old John Eberle, are being treated for hypothermia at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. Both victims from New Jersey were in the water for nearly 14 minutes Monday after their plane went down. The engine shut down and the men were forced to ditch the plane.
The plane is still at the bottom of the Hudson in about 50 feet of water. A barge is at the site but there is no word on when officials may try to pull the plane out.Related Article:
