VALLEY COTTAGE - A Valley Cottage company is playing an important role in the Sochi Winter Olympics.

Black Walnut built the official television set for NBC.

In the last several years, the company has built state-of-the-art sets for NBC News, Major League Baseball and the Daily Show.

Mike Van Dusen, head of production and co-owner, says that once they received the final designs for the Olympics set, his team of mechanics, painters, technicians and carpenters had only about five weeks to build it from scratch.

According to Van Dusen, the best part of this experience is watching the Olympics with his family and knowing he's a part of it.
