Vanderhoef: $3M to be distributed to HV towns, not-for-profits
Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef has announced that more than $3 million in funding will be distributed to local not-for-profit groups, towns and villages to be used for improvements that he says will not cost taxpayers a dime.
The money was awarded to the county through the Federal Housing and Urban Development fund, which provides municipalities, groups and agencies that have helpful programs for needy Rockland residents.
Funding will be split up between several Rockland communities and used for improvements at parks like the Bowline Point Park in Haverstraw and Pecks Pond Recreation in West Haverstraw.
The money will also go toward local not-for-profit organizations, such as local dance studios, child care centers and education centers. For a complete list of the grant's recipients, .
