Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef officially announced this morning that he will not run for the U.S. Senate seat held by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.).
Vanderhoef said he believed that there was simply not a sufficient amount of time to raise the necessary campaign funds, with only six months left before Election Day.
He also denied reports that he will run for state comptroller.
