Veterans and staff at the Workmen's Circle MultiCare Center celebrated the Fourth of July by showing some appreciation for the armed forces.
Veterans from World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War were honored during a celebration at the Baychester facility.
A planned barbecue was canceled because of the rain, but a party featuring music, cake and ice cream was held despite the gloomy forecast.
There are about 15 veterans at the center. They say events such as this help lift their spirits and that they feel the gratitude from their community.
