Video leads to arrests in string of robberies in Orange
Surveillance video helped police nab three teens suspected in a string of dollar store robberies in Orange.
According to police, 18-year-old Jason Smallwood, 18-year-old Herschel Pearce and 17-year-old David Bennett stole thousands from Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores in the past five months.Police say in each robbery the suspects would walk into the store, show a handgun and demand all the employees to the back room. They say the teens would then steal money from the registers.
A Dollar Tree store in Monroe caught the trio on video surveillance. Police turned to the community for help and got it. The three former Middletown High School students were busted by their old teachers.
