Volunteers take part in day of service honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Local organization 'OneMamaroneck' is aiming to keep the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. alive by teaching today's youth the importance of paying it forward, to those who have dedicated their lives to helping others.

Local organization 'OneMamaroneck' aimed to keep the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. alive by teaching today's youth the importance of paying it forward, to those who have dedicated their lives to helping others.
Dr. King often spoke about acts of kindness and service to others.
Children created hand-made cards for service men and women, and local county first responders.
This was the first year the organization is hosting this event, with the purpose of promoting harmony and togetherness to today's youth, through a fun activity.
Organizers tell News 12, child-friendly activities can promote a larger message, while everyone enjoys a time of creativity.
Kids say giving back in their small way, will make the world a better place.
