Voters to decide on GOP candidate in U.S. House race
The Republican primary race came to a close today as voters headed to the polls to decide on a nominee for the 17th Congressional District.
Two candidates were running to gain the Republican nomination, York Kleinhandler, an Army National Guard member and former U.S. Marshal, and Anthony Mele, an Army veteran and security expert.
Kleinhandler went to West Nyack Elementary School to cast his vote while Mele voted at Fleetwood Elementary School in Chestnut Ridge.
The winner of the race will face incumbent Democratic Rep. Eliot Engel in the general election in November.
