Walden mom accused of DWI with baby
A Walden mother was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly driving drunk with her baby son in the car.
State police say 41-year-old Melonie Lendor was traveling on the State Thruway south in Clarkstown at around 6:30 a.m. when another driver noticed her erratic driving and called 911.
Lendor, an assistant principal at a Bronx school, had her 10-month-old son in the car during the incident. Police say she refused to take a Breathalyzer test on scene.
Lendor was charged with felony DWI and with endangering the welfare of a child. Her bail was set at $7,500. Lendor is due back in court Monday.
