Walkers raise money for pancreatic cancer research

RYE - Nearly a thousand walkers took part in the Lustgarten Foundation's 5th Annual Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk this weekend.

Walkers enjoyed the sunshine yesterday along the 1-to-3 mile routes through Rye Playland to raise money to help fund research and find a cure for the disease.

The Lustgarten Foundation says walk/run events have raised more than $23 million for research.

The foundation held its first walk on Long Island in 2001 and today there are more than 30 walks/runs nationally.
