Wallkill man, suspected accomplice arrested in alleged murder-for-hire plot
A Wallkill man, along with his suspected triggerman, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a murder-for-hire plot against his ex-girlfriend.Police say 42-year-old Patrick Bowie warned Fermina Nunez that if he couldn't have her, no one would. Nunez was shot execution style in her Middletown beauty salon Saturday night. Bowie was picked up Tuesday afternoon, hours after the suspected triggerman was arrested in the Bronx. Police say 36-year-old Bronx resident Melvin Green entered the salon through an unlocked door and forced three customers and Nunez to lay on the floor. They say Green grabbed money from the register before shooting 36-year-old Nunez. When police approached Green?s home Monday night, they say they were attacked by a German shepherd and were forced to kill the dog. Green led cops to Bowie, who police say attempted to take his own life before he was arrested. Bowie was arraigned and taken to Westchester Medical Center for his injuries.
