Warwick Motel guests scramble to flee raging fire
Guests staying at the Warwick Motel scrambled to escape a fire Friday, some even leaping to safety from the second floor.Fire officials say the flames broke out around 1 a.m. at the motel on Overlook Drive. Guests say they were woken up by frantic knocking at their doors and people yelling "fire." Joe Goodfellow says he didn't think twice about leaping from his second-story room. Goodfellow says he could feel how close the flames were before he jumped.
All of the guests at the Warwick Motel got out alive. Four people were hospitalized after making their escape. Two suffered broken bones from jumping to safety.
The village condemned the building after deeming it unstable due to the fire.
