Westchester County Executive George Latimer says that nearly 6,000 people have now tested positive within the county, and 56 people have been hospitalized.   He says that less than 10% of the people who have tested positive have been hospitalized. He says there has been eight deaths so far due to the virus.
He says that he wants to keep public parks open, but warns he may close them if people don’t practice social distancing. He says they are still deciding what to do about delaying the opening of traditional springtime venues such as Playland Park, beaches, public pools, and events at Kensico Dam. He says they all run the risk of being delayed if the virus isn’t under control.
