The remnants of former Hurricane Ida swept up cars, flooded homes and stranded residents across the Hudson Valley Wednesday.
Mark Mofus was just one person who felt the storm’s wrath. His car was completely engulfed by the water in Yonkers.
“It just started rising, and water didn’t know where to go,” Mofus says.
Others like Elmsford resident Ericka Thomas says she wasn’t even able to get into the city for work and school because everywhere was flooded.
Some people like Rye resident Christina Valdez couldn’t even evacuate their homes until Friday as water went up to the doors to their apartment.
Others had lots to clean up from the storm.
Irma Rodriguez had water gather in bowls inside her house.
“It is absolutely a nightmare,” Rodriguez says.
They are hoping to rebuild and that another storm like this won’t happen anytime soon.
