WC Democrats to choose nominee to run against Astorino
Westchester Democrats will decide Wednesday evening who will run against County Executive Rob Astorino in November.
Reginald Lafayette, the chairman of the Westchester Democratic Committee, will nominate the candidate at the Westchester County Center.
Democratic leaders from across the county will gather and vote on three candidates seeking the nomination - state Sen. George Latimer, County Legislator Ken Jenkins and David Spano, the son of former Westchester County Executive Andy Spano.
"And after that vote is taken, any candidate that has more than 50 percent after the first round becomes the party designate," says Lafayette.
There would only be a primary race if one of the Democrats doesn't agree with the nomination tonight.
Rob Astorino is running for his third term in November, but Lafayette believes Democrats are going to take the seat back this year
