...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Albany has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of eastern New York,
including northern Fulton county, the Saratoga and Glens Falls
region, Capital District, mid Hudson Valley and Taconics.

* Through this evening

* Showers and scattered thunderstorms will contain heavy rain
today into this evening. Rainfall amounts of one to two inches
with locally higher amounts are expected. This amount of
rainfall in a relatively short amount of time will have the
potential to cause rapid flooding along streams and creeks, in
urban areas, and in other low-lying and poor drainage areas.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
