West Nyack resident Jane Stormes is taking the deluge in stride. "My sister lives with us in the basement. [She] lost a lot of things, but we have flood insurance ... All we can say is it's our belongings, not us, so we're fine and we're happy," said Stormes.
Meanwhile, a woman who got stuck trying to drive through flood waters on Route 59 near the Palisades Center Mall had to be rescued.
Volunteers were also hard at work pumping water out of the West Nyack Library.
