Many are calling for the removal of Confederate monuments in the wake of the violence in Charlottesville last weekend.
In Katonah, a plaque commemorating Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee sits along a historical tree trail in Lasdon Park and Arboretum.
The tree where the plaque stands was planted decades ago and is surrounded by other plaques dedicated to historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.
In a statement, Westchester County said it has "no plans to take down any healthy trees or remove informational signs that are part of this unique natural exhibit and part of our nation's history."
Gov. Andrew Cuomo tweeted earlier this week, "Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson will be removed from the CUNY Hall of Great Americans because New York stands against racism."
