Witness: Argument preceeded Spring Valley shooting
After calling its final witness Tuesday, the prosecution rested in the deadly Spring Valley nightclub shooting.Carlos Herring is accused of killing 29-year-old Don Thompson outside Club Horizen in August 2006. Tawanna White, who has been romantically linked to both the victim and the suspect, testified she and Herring had a verbal argument inside the club the night of the shooting. White also said, "There was nothing but love out there that night. Everybody was in a good mood." However, that changed a short time later when White said there was an argument between Herring and one of Thompson's friends. White says after the argument, Thompson was shot six times and killed almost instantly. During cross examination, the defense attorney tried to discredit White by explaining she left some things out of her original statements to police. Herring faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.Related Information:
