A woman is lucky to be alive after she was rescued from a makeshift raft trying to cross the Hudson River Monday.
A tugboat spotted 36-year-old Ariadne Cook floating in the river on top of a piece of dock in the cold, rainy night. The crew of the tugboat was able to get Cook off the raft and onto their boat. Tarrytown Deputy Fire Chief Frank Morabito hopped on a boat used by Stiloski's Towing to bring her back.
Police say Cook is homeless and has apparently tried to cross the river before. She was taken to Westchester Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation.
