Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a woman Thursday afternoon at knifepoint in a shopping center parking lot.
Yorktown police say the victim had just left a Wells Fargo ATM down the street and had parked in a Kmart parking lot for just a few minutes when a man opened her passenger side door and sat inside the car.
They say the man held a knife to her side and demanded cash. The victim was taken to Hudson Valley Hospital, and is expected to be OK. The robber was able to flee with $240.
Police describe the alleged robber as an African-American man in his early 20s who stood at about 5 foot 8 inches tall with pock marks on both cheeks.
Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to call Yorktown police.
