Yankees give up Game 3 in Detroit
Despite a triple early in the game from Justin Granderson, it wasn't enough for the New York Yankees, who lost to the Detroit Tigers 5-4 in Game 3 of the American League Division Series last night at Comerica Park.
The Yankees went up 2-0 by the end of the first inning, but a big hit from Jhonny Peralta brought the Tigers up 4-2. In the five innings he pitched, Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia gave up 4 runs, 7 hits, and 6 walks. A home run in the seventh inning from Delmon Young gave the Tigers their fifth run.
The Yankees face elimination tonight in Detroit in Game 4. First pitch is scheduled for 8:37 p.m., with Yankees pitcher A.J. Burnett facing off against Rick Porcello.
