A Yonkers program to track missing kids is now expanding to include adults.
The city's 'Missing Persons DNA Kit' will now be offered to people with substance addictions, and mental illness, as well as elderly people who suffer from dementia.
The free kits allow users to store DNA samples and fingerprints with police, which makes it easier for officers to help track them in the event they go missing.
Yonkers Mayor Michael Spano says utilizing DNA can be critical in solving a missing case.
