A member of the Yonkers Fire Department has passed away after his battle with a 9/11-related illness.

Neill Tyndal Jr., 48, died on Tuesday. Tyndal recently retired from the fire department.

Tyndal's family says he enjoyed boating and riding his motorcycle. He leaves behind a wife and two sons.

A wake will be held on Saturday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc.  on 732 Yonkers Ave. Funeral services will be held on Monday at St. Barnabas Church.
