Former Assemblyman John Faso?s bid for New York governor got a jump start Wednesday when the Yonkers GOP gave him its endorsement.
Surrounded by supporters at the Republican headquarters on Yonkers Avenue, Faso discussed the issues he is running on. Faso says he wants families to have affordable places to live and a good education for their kids. Faso points out that whether people live in upstate New York or in Yonkers, the fourth largest city, the issues are the same.
However, Faso isn?t the only Republican in the race. State Party Vice Chairman and Rockland County GOP Leader Vincent Reda is backing former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld. And despite what the state party wants, Faso says he plans to challenge Weld in a September primary if he doesn't get the nomination.
