It was a day of giving in Yonkers Sunday as local luxury car provider PCNY hosted its sixth annual turkey drive to help people who face food insecurity.
Council President Mike Khader, along with Mayor Mike Spano, partnered with PCNY, Garden of Eden and the Hometown Foundation to provide over 20,000 turkeys and over 50,000 pounds of produce to both local and national organizations.
Khader says this is a huge help to Yonkers residents.
"At least for one day, let's be able to say there are people out there that understand your difficulties, they understand your anxiety and we're trying to help," Khader said.
The trucks that were loaded with donations will be serving Yonkers residents through Thanksgiving Day, with the hopes to put a smile on the faces of those in need.
