Yonkers Paddling and Rowing Club teaches people about water safety

The Yonkers Paddling and Rowing Club trains their staff and volunteers how to plan a rowing trip and how to take a group of people out onto the water. The club also teaches people how to study water currents to map out safe trips.

A rowing club in Yonkers is teaching people how to hit the waters in a safe way.
The Yonkers Paddling and Rowing Club trains their staff and volunteers how to plan a rowing trip and how to take a group of people out onto the water. The club also teaches people how to study water currents to map out safe trips.
Leaders run timed rescues and teach rowers how to do a kayak roll.
"Come up with projects, run a trip across the river, take your friends for a hike, that's what it's really about,” said Director of the Hudson River Riders Chev Dixon.
Teens between 13 and 18 can come in and train to be CPR certified and join the club.
