YONKERS - The Yonkers Police Department gave out DNA kits yesterday to parents to help in the event that a child goes missing.

Officials say the kits will have the child's name, photo and some personal information in addition to DNA so police are ready in case of a crisis.

One officer says they did a similar event a few months ago, and they handed out 300 kits. They say almost 200 more were handed out yesterday at the Showcase Cinema.

Parents say the kits give them a little peace of mind, especially after all of the missing child cases they hear about.
